3+1=4!

As you can see from our previous posts that it's been quite an adventure for us from holidays and birthdays, to weddings and the daily joys with little boys. Well, our adventure has just gotten more exciting! Back in January we found out to our surprise that we were expecting another child.  Oh boy, literally, another boy!  So, the three amigos have now become the fantastic four!  Due date is September 3rd but since he's all about surprising us, he decided to come July 31st.

Isaac Henry Schweitzer was born at 5lbs 15oz and 18in long. Being 5 weeks early he's had to spend some time in the neonatal icu to clear and strengthen his lungs and learn how to eat.  It's been two weeks now and we are looking forward to bringing him home soon.

Fun Moments

Arrrr! Ahoy matey! Where be the cookies?
DUMP EVERYTHING... Area under construction!
These musicians are only available on the weekends!  Booking them for an event can be done through their agent.

" Look Mom, no hands!"
 "Go faster Daddy, go faster!"
 Mic testing...1,2,3...am I on?
Early one morning the three amigos woke up before the break of dawn and found some dry erase markers.  They then decided to begin their coloring adventure.  Being proud of their works of art, these young Picassos ran into Momma and Daddy's room shouting "Look, isn't it beautiful!"  We woke up to quite a display of colorful artwork all over their bedroom (walls, carpet and bedsheets) as well as all over their bodies.  With surprised smiles on our faces we acknowledged that their artistic ability is amazing but we kindly suggested using a different medium for expression.
Learning what it means to PUT ON LOVE.  Let us love one another!
The wheels on the bus go round and round!
Cooling off in the pool on hot summer days!
Dinner's ready!  Lego people come on over to J's kitchen table.
Choo!  Choo!  All aboard the bear train!
SAY CHEESE!

Party Under Construction

Triple the love, triple the fun, it’s three parties rolled into one!
Jonathan and Luke are turning 5, Matthias has turned 3
Come celebrate, it’s you we want to see!

DUMP EVERYTHING!  PARTY UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

At the end of July we decided to combine all three of our boys' birthday celebrations into one big party!  The party theme was all about construction.  So there were a variety of activity stations set up like a building site, digging area, demolition zone and a place for road construction.  It was a great time with friends and family at the park!

Daddy is my Hero! Happy Father's Day!

We wholeheartedly celebrated Father's Day this year, thanking God for His goodness in giving us my wonderful Husband and Daddy to our children!

He is Risen! Resurrection Day 2014

"Jesus is alive!  He is risen!  Jesus saves!"  These were the statements being shouted with excitement around our house on Resurrection Day (a.k.a. Easter). This year with the boys being a little bit old, it was exciting to watch them engage their minds on what Resurrection Day was all about.  During the month of April we did a variety of activities surrounding the celebration of Resurrection Day.  Each one of the boys had fun making their own lap books filled with games, songs and educational activities.  We made yummy Resurrection Rolls, which the boys devoured quickly. Then during the week leading up to Resurrection Day, we read selected verses about the Resurrection Story from the Bible together each evening with our candles lit and afterwards would blow out a candle symbolizing that we were getting closer to Jesus dying on the cross.  So that by the time of Good Friday all the candles would be blown out and then on Resurrection Day we would light all them again displaying that Jesus is alive.  On Good Friday we attended our Good Friday service at church and then on the night before Resurrection Day we did our traditional Resurrection Baskets at home.  That's where we have the boys go on a rock hunt, filling their baskets full until it feels heavy and we use this time to explain the weight of sin that Jesus took upon Himself on the cross from us.  Then before going to bed we cover the baskets with a red cloth symbolizing that Jesus had to die for our sins.  When the boys wake up the following morning they are excited and surprised to see that their baskets are no longer covered in red but a purple and white cloth, displaying that Jesus conquered sin and death...that He is King and has made us clean by washing our sins away.  They then uncover their baskets to find fun toys and goodies in celebration of the goodness of our God in sending His son to save us from our sins. After our time at home we headed over to Nana's house to enjoy a delicious dinner together with family, an Easter Egg Hunt and opened up some more Easter Baskets. All in all it's a wonderful time together growing our appreciation for what Jesus has done.
