Celebrating the Holidays in Virginia (part 2)

Celebrating the Holidays in Virginia (part one)

A few days after Christmas, we flew up to VA to visit Mark's family. While we were there we spent time with Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins, as well as neighbors and friends...ok let just say we got to see many people and what a joy it was! Jonathan and Luke especially enjoyed playing with their cousin Malachi. Upon arrival we celebrated Christmas again with a delicious meal, fun conversations and a time of exchanging gifts. On New Years Eve we got together with much of the extended family for a delightful time where we sang the twelve days of Christmas and participated in the annual Garrette gift exchange. Later on during our visit Rebecca (Mark's sister) had a wonderful Bridal Shower. Towards the end of our time in VA it began to snow and the boys were intrigued by this new falling, white, tasteless substance. Over all the time went by too fast but it was a great time spent with family of which we love dearly.

Christmas in Florida (part 2)

Family is such a rich blessing from God! On Christmas day this year all the cousins were able to be together and what a sweet time it was. Aunt Karen and Uncle Jeff were also able to come visit after the new year and the boys had such a fun time with everyone.

Christmas in Florida (part 1)

A Christmas Eve a tradition we've started is to attend our Christmas Eve service at church and then spend the rest of the evening at home as a family. While at home we enjoyed a nice meal together, read the Christmas story and exchanged gifts. The following morning after breakfast we headed over to celebrate Christmas Day with Kristin's family. What a glorious God... who would send His son Jesus Christ to earth to save us from our sins. Let us all celebrate in light of this Truth!

Christmas With New Life Baptist Church

In December we had the opportunity to share our Living Nativity with the town of Davie. It was a wonderful evening savoring the story of Christmas. Later during the month we gathered together with the youth and their families for our annual Christmas party. We had a delightful time with cool temperatures outside, finger foods and a fun gift exchange game.

Thanksgiving 2010

We started our Thanksgiving Day by enjoying a pancake breakfast with our church family. Later that afternoon we got together with Kristin's family, where we shared a delicious meal and spent a wonderful time together. There is so much to be thankful for and we praise God for His abundant goodness each and every day!

Celebrating Reformation Day 2010

Mark and the youth leaders of New Life Baptist Church put together an incredible Reformation Day Party on October 31st for the youth and their families. It was a fun filled evening with music, food, games and a great time celebrating the history of Christianity through the story of Martin Luther (as well as many other sound reformers). Mark and the boys enjoyed dressing up as monks and many others who attended also were decked out in the attire of that time period. What a joy it is to teach the youth, organize exciting events and lead each other in the Truth!

Birthday Boys! (part 1)

It is hard to believe that the boys are a year old (officially 14 months at this point). We had a wonderful time celebrating as a family on October 27th... their actual birthday. Also, we had an exciting day at the park celebrating with friends and family on November 6th.
