Our First Outing as a Family of Five

On July 8th all around the United States as well as internationally, people were celebrating Cow Appreciation Day at Chick Fil A. We decided to venture out in for our first out as a family of five for this exciting event. Jonathan, Luke and Matthias were in full cow apparel so they received a free kids meal each. Mark and Kristin wore decorative cow hats and enjoyed a free entree each. It was a wonderful day for the Schweitzer Herd. What better place to go as a family!

Welcome Matthias Owen Schweitzer

Matthias Owen Schweitzer was born early Monday morning, June 27th at 8:06 am. Weighing in at 7 lbs, 12 oz and measuring 20 inches long, he came out healthy with lots of dark hair. It has been a festive time of celebration here in the Schweitzer Home. Thank you for all of your prayers for us thru this time. God has blessed us with no complications ... a healthy Momma and an healthy Baby!

Luke and Jonathan are excited to welcome their new baby brother into the world... Actually their pretty much clueless that Matthias is on his way. At least they know how to say "baby". We are praying for a smooth transition as our family grows.

Jonathan and Luke at 18 Months

At 18 months both Jonathan and Luke are full of energy, running, laughing, climbing, chasing, hiding, exploring, yelling, playing, and talking all the time. You name it and they have attempted (often successfully) to get into it!

Visiting the Doctor for the 18 month check up, Jonathan weighed 23lbs. 12oz. and nearly 34 inches tall. Luke weighted in at 22lbs. 4oz. and was 32 inches tall.

Both boys have all their teeth except the second molars. Their vocabulary is vast and is expanding on a daily basis.

While they are different in personality and physical build, they are still the very best of friends!

A Visit From Aunt "Meemee" (aka: Misty)

We were blessed to have Misty come and visit for a little over a week recently. Jonathan and Luke had a great time playing with her throughout her stay. She became affectionately referred to as "Meemee" by both of the boys.

Celebrating the Holidays in Virginia (part one)

A few days after Christmas, we flew up to VA to visit Mark's family. While we were there we spent time with Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins, as well as neighbors and friends...ok let just say we got to see many people and what a joy it was! Jonathan and Luke especially enjoyed playing with their cousin Malachi. Upon arrival we celebrated Christmas again with a delicious meal, fun conversations and a time of exchanging gifts. On New Years Eve we got together with much of the extended family for a delightful time where we sang the twelve days of Christmas and participated in the annual Garrette gift exchange. Later on during our visit Rebecca (Mark's sister) had a wonderful Bridal Shower. Towards the end of our time in VA it began to snow and the boys were intrigued by this new falling, white, tasteless substance. Over all the time went by too fast but it was a great time spent with family of which we love dearly.
